Our actions and words matter and it’s time to reframe how to effectively treat low back pain patients. The time when we only relied on a sign-symptoms approach is over and establishing a multidimensional profile of your patient would be a better option. The importance of communication, patient-centered approaches and goal matching help build a therapeutic relationship, enhancing compliance and improving patient outcomes.
We won’t stop ourselves from this debate of only hands-on or hands-off treatment but emphasize the use of each of them into a cognitive functional approach. - Investigate multidimensionally his patient during the anamnesis and physical assessment so he can give the most personalized treatment.
- Identify red flags related to serious spinal pathologies and perform a bedside neurological examination to refer or follow-up if necessary.
- Get answers from the famous myths and frequently asked questions around low back pain.
- Leverage effectively manual therapy, exercises and communication for better outcomes.
